The Power of the Purse 2015 luncheon event, featuring keynote speaker, author, and educator, Beth Holloway, will be held on December 11, 2015 at Naples Grande Beach Resort. This event is hosted by the Women’s Foundation of Collier County and BMO Private Bank, with additional support provided by Gulfshore Life.
The Power of the Purse brings together civic-minded leaders whose charitable activities help improve the well-being of at-risk women and girls in our community. Net proceeds from the event support the Women’s Foundation of Collier County. Power of the Purse attendees will hear from Beth Holloway, mother of Natalee Holloway who disappeared in Aruba, on hope, faith, courage, and perseverance. Event attendees can also participate in a drawing for fabulous designer handbags.
The 2016 Women of Initiative honorees will be announced at the Power of the Purse. Nominations are currently being accepted through October 1 for this prestigious award with the ceremony held on April 8, 2016.
Community Foundation president, Eileen Connolly-Keesler, spoke about the Women’s Foundation mission: “The Women’s Foundation is the only organization in Collier County dedicated to building an endowment to support the unmet and changing needs of women and girls. These resources acquired during the Power of the Purse will guarantee that, even in difficult economic times, there will always be a source of funding available to address those needs.”
